Engaging with the community
Orkuveitan and its subsidiaries provide some form of service to approximately eight out of every ten Icelanders. In most cases, the companies act as a link between the country's natural resources and the people and businesses that benefit from them.
The responsibility of Orkuveitan—and thereby Veitur, Orka náttúrunnar, Ljósleiðarinn, and Carbfix—is to ensure that services are reliable and reasonably priced. The services should thus strengthen communities without depleting natural resources in such a way that future generations cannot also enjoy them.

A strong dialogue with the community
Reykjavík Energy places great emphasis on providing clear, reliable, and accessible information about its operations. It is important for us to engage in an open and active dialogue with the community, where trust and transparency are the guiding principles in all our communications. By sharing knowledge and information about our projects in a simple way, we contribute to an informed discussion on issues that matter to the nation – whether it's energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, or climate issues.
We play a key role in Icelandic society by ensuring access to clean energy, reliable infrastructure, secure telecommunications, and climate solutions. We believe that success in these projects is built on a strong relationship with the community, government, customers, and employees. Therefore, we work systematically to listen, respond, and share information that strengthens our common vision of a sustainable future and creates clean opportunities for the future.
