Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of Reykjavík Energy is elected by the municipal councils of the three municipalities that own the company.
The representatives of the City of Reykjavík on the board of Reykjavík Energy are Gylfi Magnússon, who is the chairman, Vala Valtýsdóttir, who is the vice-chairman, Skúli Helgason, Ragnhildur Alda Vilhjálmsdóttir, and Þórður Gunnarsson.
Alternate members are Auður Hermannsdóttir, Pétur Marteinn U Tómasson, Páll Gestsson, Ragnheiður Björk Halldórsdóttir and Björn Gíslason.
The representative of Akranes is Valgarður Lyngdal Jónsson.
The observer for Borgarbyggð is Guðveig Lind Eyglóardóttir.
The observer for Reykjavík Energy Employees' Union is Unnur Líndal Karlsdóttir.

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee of the City of Reykjavík operates on behalf of the City of Reykjavík and its subsidiaries. The committee is composed of Lárus Finnbogason, certified public accountant; Sigrún Guðmundsdóttir, certified public accountant; Einar S. Hálfdánarson, attorney and certified public accountant; and Sunna Jóhannsdóttir, business administrator, who is nominated by the board of Reykjavík Energy.
The State Remuneration Board
The members of the Remuneration Committee are board members Vala Valtýsdóttir and Þórður Gunnarsson, as well as Drífa Sigurðardóttir.
