Supplier's Code of Conduct
Reykjavík Energy and its subsidiaries Veitur, Orka náttúrunnar, Ljósleiðarinn, and Carbfix, support the United Nations Global Compact, which is based on a number of other international agreements. By doing so, the companies have committed to ensuring their policies and practices are in line with fundamental principles relating to human rights, the labor market, the environment, and anti-corruption measures. Global Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production, which includes, among other things, responsible public procurement, is one of Reykjavík Energy's priority goals.
In accordance with this, Reykjavík Energy and its subsidiaries require their suppliers, i.e. companies and individuals who provide Reykjavík Energy and its subsidiaries with goods or services, to adhere to these fundamental criteria and, in turn, require their own suppliers to do the same. Upon request, the supplier must confirm that these fundamental criteria are being followed. A confirmation form is at the bottom of this page.

Questions and Answers
It's not just about doing the right things, but also about doing them right. This is precisely what corporate social responsibility is about, and it's not enough to look only at one's own operations, but also at the resources used for them. Companies bear increasing responsibility for their value chain. With a supplier code of conduct, the companies within the Orka náttúrunnar group strive to maintain an overview of the companies' value chain and to influence it.
We record in our supplier list whether companies have agreed to the code of conduct. In tenders, price surveys, or price inquiries, we will consider whether the supplier in question has confirmed that they will comply with the rules and will consider that if the supplier does not feel they can comply with them, they are not interested in the business.
When submitting bids in formal tenders, suppliers specifically confirm that they are subject to requirements corresponding to the code of conduct and, often, stricter requirements in individual categories. We now intend to make corresponding demands in all procurement and will consider a bid invalid if the supplier has not confirmed the rules.
