Strong Interest in ON Power’s 150 Megawatts of Electricity

A diverse group of domestic and international parties showed interest in purchasing 150 megawatts of electricity from ON Power. The company posted an announcement on this matter on an international platform at the beginning of March through a European procurement website.

„The response exceeded our expectations, and it is pleasing to see confirmation that there is such substantial interest in green, renewable Icelandic electricity both from domestic and international parties. The findings of the survey show that the demand for electricity is multiple times the supply,“ says Árni Hrannar Haraldsson, CEO of ON Power.

The company’s goal is to obtain market prices for the electricity when parts of its current electricity sales contracts expire in the next 2-4 years. Discussions will now begin with potential customers, and the aim is to complete the first round of discussions soon.
